Room 12’s Weekly
Monday
9th March, 2015
Week
6, Term 1
Dear
Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome to week 6. This
week I will be focused on 6 week testing of your children. The tests involve
alphabet knowledge and the understanding of how books and words work. I will
also be testing number knowledge. Once I
have the information I need I will make contact with you to organise a
parent/teacher conference. Please note
that I will not be part of the whole school Parent Interviews in week 7. You do
not need to book in with me, as I will book in with you over the next couple of
weeks. School will however still finish at 12.30pm next Thursday 19th
March for the whole school including Room 12.
Because of the time it
takes to administer these tests, the children will be bringing home a selection
of independent books they have chosen to read to you this week.
Swimming: We swim on Monday,
Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
Term 1
Activity Fee: The
Activity Fee is due for the year. Please pay $60 to the school office.
Ice
Cream Containers: Keep them coming please.
Ice
Blocks: These will be for sale every Friday this term.
Reading Books: Please make sure all readers are in
your child’s book bag every day. It is my intention to collect them on a
Thursday or Friday each week. I do however check each day that they have them
in their book bags before handing out another one. Readers are very expensive
and cost the school a lot of money to replace.”
Kind Regards,
Emma Heaford
Homework:
Reading: Read your Fast Words –
Everyday. Read them quickly. Then read your home readers and fill in your
reading log daily. Regular reading and
practice makes a big differenceJ
Oral Language/News: Rm 12 – Do you have something
to share with the class?
Reading eggs: See the teacher or email if you are
after a password. Remember you must be up to date with the Terms Activity Fees: $60 for the year.
Family Photo: Can you please
send your child to school with a family photo to put on the family tree. Thank
you to those who have already done this. Some parents have emailed me their
family photo. That is fine with me if it makes it easier for you.
